Shariita |
15 years of Journey
I was the first born apo (grand daughter) of the grandmother who took care of me since birth. It was August 30, 1994 when I first saw light from this world. My auntie and godmother Shanti named me Shariita. Our names were taken from sanskrit. I was loved and well taken cared of by mommy(my grandmother).
I had a wonderful childhood. Ice skating brought me to different countries in Asia as a competitive figure ice skater. I started ice skating at an early age of 6 with my younger cousin, Jovanii. We were both raised and taken cared off by mommy since birth. My first competition outside the Philippines was in Hong Kong where I've won gold medals in all entries I joined. After that success, my coach (Coach Albert Aguilar)and my mom decided to allow me to enter into different competitions in Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan and major Philippine competitions. But luck wasn't very generous, we had stop our passion for ice skating due financial reasons. And this had led to be more serious in my academics. I never neglect my studies though, even I'm most of the time in the rink practicing. I had excelled well in my academics specially math.
My elementary life was not very happy. I feel like an outcast to my classmates. I think because I always go out of the country and very famous in school as a competitive ice skater and a competitive student. I more of a loner then. I would hurriedly go home after class and stay home with mom.
Everything change when I entered high school. I felt accepted, I felt I am me. I gained a lot of friends and best friends. If before I would hurriedly go home when I was in elementary, high school life is completely the opposite. I enjoy staying long in school with my best friends and teachers. I would always love Miss Jackie, Miss Manalili, Miss Jimenez, the Sisters and all my high school teachers in St.Scholastica's College Manila. I would always love my best friends Yoojin, Nikki, Kim, Pariszia, Darla and all my classmates and batch mates. We are like a big family.
Though sometimes life was rocky and uncertain, my 15 years of existence was colorful and happy. Come into my world .....
